About

ELI Business students take the Business Seminar each morning, in which they study concepts and terminology found in strategic planning, organization, investment analysis, and developing a business plan.

The format includes lectures, discussions, case studies, readings, and small group work with presentations, and includes: 4-5 hours of instruction, five days per week, practice in the case method to explore business strategies and concepts, and field trips to area businesses.

In the afternoon, students take Oral Communication Skills, where they improve their spoken English – vocabulary, idiomatic expressions, grammar and pronunciation – within the business context.

The English for Business course is offered at Yale English Language Institute. The class will focus on presentations in mock business meetings based on case studies. Students also take Written Communication Skills, which focuses on group and individual writing projects based on case studies.
