About

No science without publishing. Careers are increasingly dependent on what a person has written and where it is published. Likewise, PhD candidates are expected to publish  the outcome of their PhD research. The Scientific Publishing programme is offered by Wageningen University and Research.

Overview

Being generally new in this arena, young scientists may be in oblivion towards the process, rules and regulations with respect to scientific publishing.

The Scientific Publishing programme is offered at Wageningen University and Research.

This one-day workshop provides insight and awareness in the developments, process, rules and ethical aspects of scientific writing and publishing. Furthermore tips how to get your work published are also addressed.

Programme Structure

Issues that will be discussed among others in the afternoon session:

  • (co)Authorship rules (and what can a first author expect from co-authors)
  • Content of thesis
  • When is a paper worth publishing? / How do you rate the quality of the paper?
  • Quantity vs quality
  • Selection of journal to publish in
