QMUL began life as the People’s Palace, a Victorian philanthropic project designed to bring culture, recreation and education to the people of east London. We also have roots in one of the first colleges to provide higher education to women, Westfield College, and the medical colleges of St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals.
