Take a walk at the EKO-House, the house of Japanese culture, Europe’s first and unique Buddhist temple, surrounded by several buildings. Have a tour through Altstadt ("old town"), the historic town centre. Königsallee is a popular place for shopping.
Düsseldorf hosts many festivals, probably the most famous is the Rhenish Carnival celebration, held annually, during summer. Düsseldorf is also renowned for its contribution to the culture of modern popular music. You shouldn’t miss Düsseldorf's Rhine Embankment Promenade that offers one of the best ways of enjoying the city's wonderful riverside.
Due to Düsseldorf's proximity to the Belgian and Dutch border, weekend trips to Amsterdam or Brussels are easy to arrange.

Düsseldorf experiences moderate winters with little snowfall and mild to warm summers. The warm season lasts from May to September with an average daily high temperature above 21°C (69 °F). July is the wettest and the hottest month, presenting high temperatures of 25°C (77° F).
