Overview
Global Climate Change and Health from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine will address the effect of climate change on people living in poverty, who are the hardest hit by climate change despite being the least responsible for the crisis.
Students at Global Climate Change and Health from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine will:
- explore the economic, political, social and environmental determinants of vulnerability to the effects of climate change and will be encouraged to examine critically the key strategies of adaptation and mitigation.
- examine all aspects of the impact of climate change – not just health alone.

- Global climate change and the wider determinants of health and disease;
- Adaptation and adaptive capacity in the public health context;
- Determinants of adaptive capacity;
- Vulnerability assessment;
- Strategies for reducing vulnerability and strengthening adaptive capacity.

- The course is taught in English and in a postgraduate setting. Students whose first language is not English should be aware that to benefit from the course participants should have English language proficiency at the equivalent of an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of at least 6.5.
