The ESL + Food Certificate provides a high-quality English language education for students who want to attend culinary school at the ICC, obtain a degree in Food Studies at The New School, or choose another career path within the food industry.

  • New School ESL courses are offered at intermediate and advanced levels. 
  • The New School ESL program is not for beginners. Intermediate-level proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English is required to apply. 
  • Those who have not attained that level based on a writing test will not be admitted to the program.
