About

The students of the STEP - Short Term Engineering Program offered at the University of Pisa will attend a class of Energy systems and a class of  Italian culture and language (elementary level) at the Language Centre. SDSU: the students will attend a class of Numerical analysis and a class of  Italian culture and language (elementary level) that include the topic on diversity related to the topic ""Role of women in Italian history".

Friday is devoted to technical visit and seminar in labs and industries. The weekends are devoted to the cultural visit of main local cities and attractions. It's required for students to attend all the lectures. The STEP in USA is open also to students of other Italian Universities upon evaluation of the STEP Committee.

Programme Structure

UIUC: the students will attend a class of Energy systems (NPRE201) and a class of English culture and language (mid - high level); while in San Diego, SDSU a) Computer Programming and Applications (ME 202) (or specific topic on Corrosion and Protection of materials) and a class of English culture and language (mid - high level).The classes usually run from Monday through Thursday.

Students of Engineering college from 3rd year bachelor to 2nd year of master of the following universities: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC); San Diego State University; University of Pisa (UNIPI) and other Italian universities.

Academic Requirements

1) Be part of the "target group";

2) For Italian students: 

  • Good knowledge of the English language (there will be an evaluation test)
  • Evaluation of the grades of the examinations done by the students within the date of the submission of the request to participate.
