About

The Food and Dairy Technology Certificate programme from Van Hall Larenstein, University of Applied Sciences focuses on technological aspects of food development and production processes, food quality, health and safety, and logistics. Special attention is given to dairy process technology. One of unique feature of the Department of Food technology is the pilot plant in which students practice the different food technology processes used in Dutch food industry. At this plant, students and staff work on the development of new and the improvement of existing products for food industry together with other students, researchers, professors and specialists from food industry.

This program is especially interesting for mid-career professionals who would like to specialise in dairy process technology. Others who are interested in food technology, food safety and food product design in the general sense, can benefit from this programme as well. One of the prerequisites is a solid background in microbiology, chemistry , physics and/ or biotechnology.

    C1 Advanced is a Cambridge English Qualification. It reports on the Cambridge English Scale between 142 and 210. You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and for Use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exam. Universities and colleges may ask you to achieve a specific score, either overall or for a particular skill.

    Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.

Academic Requirements

HAVO-equivalent secondary school diploma

  • One of the general admission requirements for all our certificates is a secondary school diploma, which is equivalent to the Dutch HAVO (or VWO) diploma. Examples of equivalent levels are the International Baccalaureate diploma or A-Levels. Your diploma will be evaluated after VHL has received your complete application.
  • Secondary school examinations in both Chemistry and Mathematics are mandatory.
