This six-week course, International Gangsters; From Scarface To Gomorrah from The American University of Paris explores the roots of the gangster genre in the major industries, such as in Germany, France and the United States.
This brief overview is used as a base for better understanding the cinematic language of gangster films in international contexts; the tragic narratives of gangster figures in diverse urban settings and the cross pollination of gangster films between national borders.
