With the Online Cambridge First (FCE) Preparation at the British Study Centres you will learn new exam techniques, understand the structure of the exam and discover what the examiner is looking for.

Learning outcomes

Cambridge English: First (FCE) focuses on Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) – an upper-intermediate level of English. The exam shows you can study in English at foundation or pathway level, work in an English-speaking environment and live independently in an English-speaking country.

This course will help you develop the skills necessary to gain your desired results. Includes access to the award-winning Flo-Joe FCE preparation material.

Programme Structure

Course Content:

Reading and Use of English

Understanding texts from publications such as books, newspapers and magazines. Understanding and using phrasal verbs and collocations. Conjunctions, prepositions, pronouns. Verb tenses and forms.

Writing

Writing different text types, such as an essay, report or a letter. Requesting and giving information. Expressing opinions, hypothesizing, persuading, comparing and describing. Justifying arguments and making recommendations.

Listening

Learn to follow a range of spoken materials, such as news and everyday conversations. Understanding purpose, function, attitude, opinion, relationship etc. Identifying details, specific information, stated opinions etc.

Speaking

Communicating effectively in face-to-face situations. General interaction and social language. Comparing, describing and speculating. Expressing opinion, agreeing and disagreeing, justifying, prioritising and decision making.
