Overview
At General English Course offered by Meridian School of English classroom-based lessons provide opportunities for students to work individually, in pairs and in small groups. A certificate is awarded at the end of the course.
Students at General English Course offered by Meridian School of English will:
- gain confidence building their vocabulary and improving their pronunciation and grammar by using a variety of media including lessons which are prepared based on the needs of the class.
- Learn new vocabulary.
- Improve understanding of English grammar and tenses.
- Get lots of practice by using everyday ‘functional’ English.
- Develop the core language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
- Receive regular assessments to ensure improvement throughout the course.
- Meet people from other countries and cultures.
- Make real progress and have a lot of fun!
Programme Structure
Activities included:
- Orientation walks around the city
- English conversation club
- Culture club
- Social evenings in traditional English pubs
- Live music and karaoke
- Bowling evenings and pool competitions
- Shopping trips
- Evening meals at recommended local restaurants
- Optional weekend excursions for example, London, Stonehenge,
- Oxford, Tintagel and St Ives (bookable in advance).

- All levels of ability from A1 to C2* (CEFR scale) aged 16 or over.
- Students under the age of 16 can be accepted as part of a Closed Group.
