Overview
Develop your understanding of how to estimate and cost a project or building at different stages.
With links to construction companies worldwide, the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment is key to supporting your progress to senior management.
Cost Studies at Nottingham Trent University Online will help you to develop a lasting knowledge of the whole life cost, life cycle costing and cost forecasting, as well as the industry standards relating to cost and estimating.
After successfully completing this course you will be able to:
- identify solutions to complex problems relating to the value maximisation of construction works
- understand and discuss the relative merits of various approaches to estimating and costing
- effectively evaluate a broad range of factors impacting project value, cost and time.
At the end of the eight-week course, you will be awarded a CPD certificate.
Passing the assessed element (an exam or coursework) can also contribute ten credits towards a postgraduate award. All candidates seeking credit will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to follow the credit route you must mention this on your application form.
Successful completion of this course does not mean automatic entry to the MSc Construction Project Management course (you will need to submit a new application).
