Overview
This is a basic level course, meaning that those with no knowledge of EU programmes and/or experience with preparing grant proposals under other schemes can also benefit from the course. For those with experience in applying for other grants, this course helps to understand the ERC requirements in detail and the quality level you should aim at in your application.
Outcomes
By the end of the Get ERC Grant Ready course, you will be able to:
- Formulate your research idea and set your ambitions for an ERC grant application.
- Decide on the grant schemes applicable to your personal situation
- Understand ERC as part of the Horizon Europe research and innovation framework program (2021-2027)
- Understand the structure of the ERC application form and write your research proposal.
- Prepare a budget proposal, CV and track record for your research proposal.
- Understand the evaluation procedure of an ERC grant.
Programme Structure
How you will learn:
- In this course, we will provide guidance throughout your journey towards a successful grant application. You will be equipped with the right tools and you will prepare a personal portfolio full of ingredients you will need for writing an ERC research proposal.
- The course consists of 7 sections. At each stop in your journey, you will be equipped with new tools for preparing your grant proposal.
- In each section, you will find texts for further reading, informative graphics, practical exercises, instruction videos and questions to trigger your thinking. You will directly apply your knowledge by making your own portfolio.
- This way you will be challenged to ponder upon your own personal research idea. We will trigger your thoughts and inspire you to reflect on the options. Your personal portfolio will be a tangible product you can use for future reference.
