Building on the work done in Voice for Performance: An Introduction you will continue to free the breath, extend pitch, develop resonance and increase sensitivity to the demands of the text. The Voice for Performance 2 (online) programme is offered by The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Please note: due to the nature of voice work, the course contains a certain amount of floor work (especially in the first few sessions). You will need to have room to lie down and we recommend having a yoga mat or towel to hand for your comfort.

  • Skillfully and safely continue to free the breath, build capacity, control
  • Further develop resonance
  • Extend pitch range and increase vocal expressivity
  • Increase dexterity muscularity of articulation and precise diction in any accent
  • Increase sensitivity to the demands of text: working with rhythm, phrasing and vocal variety
  • Develop heightened ability to create and communicate character, emotion, and thought in a variety of contexts, styles and genre through the use of language
  • Investigate the connections between thought, emotion, breath, voice and spoken word
