Design thinking is a powerful holistic process, which aims to shift the paradigm and focus from innovation centered on technology and economy towards the one on human needs and experiences. This process is iterative and flexible, emphasizing the collaboration between innovators and users.
What you will learn
The Design Thinking for Sustainable Design and Development course at TU Berlin will enable them to connect with potential users, identify their needs, and systematically ideate, prototype, and test ideas for products and services.
Through a series of practical and accumulative exercises, the students will create a Design Thinking project that is concrete and specific to their major fields.

Main course components:
- Program Experience: introduction to the course and overview of the class project
- Lectures by experts: thematic lectures by experts of sustainability and user-centric design & development
- Daily class sessions: structured class session that includes discussions, workshops, and project exercises
- 8 assignments: self-study exercises & assignments that cover specific topics
- 1 capstone project: final project that consolidates exercises and assignments of the course sessions
