Overview
Opportunities
What do we mean when we use the term organisational behaviour? Are we suggesting that organisations are self-aware autonomous entities that have their own behaviours and agendas? While this would be impossible, it does often feel like an organisation is a living, breathing creature that acts out a series of behaviours toward whatever end it is interested in.
But we know of course that the behaviour of the entity is simply the sum outcomes of the behaviours of all the individuals that work within it. And it's the behaviours of these individual workers that are of interest to us when evaluating organisational behaviour. We focus on this, as if you can evaluate, predict and moderate individual employee behaviours, you can by consequence direct the behaviour of the organisation as a whole.
