About the course
Learning how to unlock your voice can help you increase in confidence and bring new depth to your performance if you are portraying a character on stage or presenting as yourself in a business context. This Voice for Performance - An Introduction short course is offered at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
Programme Structure
Course content:- Using your voice as a performer or public speaker
- Explore fundamental voice techniques including breath support and control through practical work
- Learn about and explore key aspects of speech such as consonants, vowels and tone
- Build confidence and develop effective techniques to help conquer nerves
- Learn an effective vocal warm up
- Link your developing skills to practice on texts, enabling you to begin to experience speech in the present moment, free your voice and find a true connection to the words you speak
- At the end of the course you will be invited to perform a poem and a piece (acting monologue/public speech) to apply your learning in context
