Careers
The London Film School's Introduction To Technical Hand Drafting workshop is suitable for practitioners and students working in and studying Film and Television Design, or who have transferrable skills from various art backgrounds. Under Fleur's expert guidance, each participant will receive group tutelage in addition to one-to-one assistance needed, which will help develop their abilities and confidence.
Programme Structure
Courses include:
- The purpose of drafting & technical drawing
- The equipment & process - Intro to drawing kit, using scale, plans & elevations
- How to annotate the drawing - dimensions, section lines, doors & windows
- Representing architectural features - stairs & split levels, beams & columns, finishes & textures
- Reference and sources of materials - vacuum form textures, scenic paintings, stock mouldings
- Location surveys - how to survey a location, why we need them, kit required

- CV/Resume
- Personal statement (up to 750 words)
- A description of your life up to the point of applying for the course (max. 1000 words)
- A short film script (no more than 12-15 pages)
- A synopsis for an original feature film (no more than 2 pages)
- Three additional original feature ideas (no more than 1 page per idea)
- Applicants whose first language is not English may also be required to provide proof of proficiency in English.
