What does this course cover?
This Ethics and Professionalism course at King's College London aims to give students:
- Knowledge of the elements of ethics and professionalism encountered across the lifecycle of medicines.
- Skills to apply their understanding of how the concepts of duty and responsibility apply to the maintenance of professionalism and to the company’s various responsibilities.
Programme Structure
By the end of this module students will be able to:- Achieve the ethical separation of the development of medicines and the marketing of medicines across all the functions of the company.
- Put the patient first and resolve conflicts by applying their knowledge of ethical principles and values.
- Evaluate corporate strategies that promote good conduct and prevent fraud.
- Recognise the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of healthcare professionals generally and specifically in their interactions with the industry.
- Maintain professional standards by applying their understanding of the role that professional bodies and their codes of practice play in the regulation of practice.
