Learn to think like an investigative forensic psychologist. To do so, The American University of Paris' Topics - Criminal Investigative Psychology will explore investigative approaches and criminal theories, and the connections between them.
Programme Structure
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- We will look at how one retrieves information from the crime scene, makes decisions about it, and applies it to the analysis of criminal behavior.
- A broad scope of investigative techniques, including geographic analysis and offender profiling will be critically discussed, along with the psychology of undercover operations.
- Using a case-based approach, we will examine offender narratives and histories, and in this way, deepen your understanding of criminality.
- Multiple types of crimes will be covered, ranging from domestic violence and sexual assault to murder.
