Overview
Based in the scenic Arkhé campus near Şirince, A Cornucopian Dichotomy programme from Architectural Association operates as a centre of research and experimentation within the context of heritage studies.
We seek to record existing and extinct architectural forms, rituals and social practices in specific geographic areas, translating these into speculative archival experiences through workshop-based practices of making.
Participants will begin by undertaking a series of field trips to various ancient and modern sites, including marketplaces and vineyards in the vicinity of Arkhé campus, accompanied by academics and practitioners.
Insurance
All participants are responsible for securing their own travel and health insurance. Please ensure that your travel insurance also covers your personal belongings i.e. laptop, equipment, tools, passport etc. The AA takes no responsibility for lost/ stolen property.
Programme Structure
- You will explore the juxtaposition of production and overproduction, and of consumption and overconsumption, reinterpreting our discoveries through debate, design and 1:1-scale fabrication.
