Overview
Focusing on Governors Island in New York City, participants will explore the unique historical context of the site and the recent attention it has attracted in the form of development and public programming, creating proposals that offer solutions to the challenges of this unique urban framework.
The Urban Futures programme from Architectural Association will reconsider the role of the designer as that of a system architect – one who produces reconfigurable environments that can continuously generate new futures.
