About the course
This Advanced Sustainable Nutrient Management in New Zealand Agriculture course at Massey University builds on the foundation knowledge you learned in the Intermediate Sustainable Nutrient Management in New Zealand Agriculture short course.
It covers nutrient management, recent research and nutrient budgeting issues. You'll develop nutrient management plans that meet production goals for actual farm enterprises.
Programme Structure
Course content and structure:
- The course is online. You must participate in all sessions of the online course and spend up to 150 hours on self-study. There are four assignments and a two-hour exam on the final day.
- The assignments include both pastoral and arable examples. They are case studies using the 'education version' of OverseerFM. You'll develop nutrient management plans that meet production goals for actual farm enterprises and minimise the negative effects of nutrient losses on the environment.
- You'll also give a presentation of a personal case study enterprise and receive feedback from fellow participants and tutors.
- Online tutorials will be available to discuss the case studies and reinforce concepts from the lectures.
