Overview
What you will study
In the Material fatigue course offered by Luleå University of Technology, you will learn the principles behind material fatigue and gain knowledge on how to use damage rules and analyze stress cycles in different components and load cases. You will also learn how geometric design affects the life of fatigue and especially how improved design increases the life of the components.
Gain experience in welding design and choice of finishing methods for best results and fatigue life, as well as experience in how to perform tests and evaluate test data.
- Understand the underlying theories of the methods used for dimensioning
- Understand the mechanisms of cracking and fatigue
- Be able to estimate fatigue life in a number of cases.
