Overview
What you will study
In the face of the persistence and mutation of multilayered discrimination, efforts for antiracism and diversity have gained newfound momentum worldwide. The issue is, however, complex and challenging. How is inclusion engineered? What are the drivers of racism? How can they be remedied through the work environment and policy-informing knowledge and processes?
The objectives of the Diversity, Inclusion, and the Issue of Racism course offered by Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies are:
- Professional focus - Gain a comprehensive and practical understanding of the problem of racism and its multilayered local and international implications for antiracism, diversity and inclusion policies
- Critical enhancement - Develop your professional and personal ability to map, understand and navigate effectively the question of racism at the many levels of its complex nature
- Policy update - Identify the main impediments to equality of treatment and inclusion, and acquire analytical tools to manage concrete instances of discrimination
- Constructive solutions - Reflect on why and how equality of treatment and inclusion will improve the working environment of your public/private institution, organisation or company.
