Key facts
- Nanyang Technological University's 8-day Driving Sustainability in Green Technology - The Future of Food Technology programme will focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in green technology to equip professionals with the right skills to take advantage of career opportunities in the green sector, particularly in food retail, food supply, urban farming and food innovation sector.
- The movement towards sustainability has begun accelerating on several fronts, one being the master planning to the increase in demand for food resiliency and diversification of food sources. To achieve Singapore’s “30 by 30” goal, it believes science and technology will be critical in overcoming its natural constraints.
- Sustainability as a business driver has rocketed up the priority list as investors, consumers and legislators demand accountability from businesses. The pressure is mounting to address climate crisis and more stakeholders are expecting that companies make environmental sustainability a priority. Now, more than ever, businesses need to guide their teams towards green technology, help other departments understand the effects of technology on the environment and support more sustainable business approaches.
