Overview

The summer university combines academic courses taught in English, intensive German language courses, and a fun cultural and social program.

The Hessen Summer Universities (ISU) are a joint project of Hessen's universities and universities of applied science and are supported by the Hessen State Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts.OUR TARGET GROUP The ISU-program is designed for students interested in the fields of either European Politics, Economics and Law or in the field of Finance who want to learn more about the German and European Culture and History and learn or improve their German language skills by participating in an intensive language course.

Cultural Program

Cultural Program: Climbing Park, Museum of Communication: An Experience in the Dark, Movie Nights, Company visits (European Central Bank, Frankfurt Stock Exchange), Strasbourg and the European Parliament (France); optional Weekend Trip to Berlin, Opening Reception in Frankfurt's City Hall, Closing Reception.

Audience

Advanced Bachelor and Master students.

Our track European Studies is open to all discipline, our track Finance has the following prerequisite:

  • at least two finance courses in the current study course
  • course on "Macro& Money"

All lecturers are full professors from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and from the Goethe University.

  • Minimum required score:

    6.5

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. Students should at least have studied two semesters and have a good command of English.

Our Finance track is only open to students who:

  • have at least completed two finance courses
  • have completed a course on macroeconomics & money
