Apart from being really well situated you will get to enjoy our beautiful 220 acre green lively campus filled with 30,000 Semester Abroad students many being international as well as many being locals. You will be able to immerse yourself in Israeli culture while at the same time taking fascinating courses taught in English. Our program at Tel Aviv University has Hebrew language classes incorporated that fit your level for the benefit of feeling confident while becoming one more Tel Avivian.
On campus you will find great outdoor facilities as well as indoor facilities.There are many benefits of becoming a Student at TAU, one is that you will have access to a discounted gym rate which offers three pools (one olympic size one) a great indoor gym and an always visited gymnasium. There are tennis courts on campus, as well as volleyball courts spread out throughout the open areas. The campus comes alive with weekly social and cultural events.
Most of our students choose to live in our conveniently located fully furnished, modern student housing located within walking distance from the University campus. Housing includes 24-hour security and supportive resident counselors called Madrichim. As part of the TAU International community you don’t have to worry about a support system, since we work really hard to give all of our international students personal attention.
Apart from discovering Tel Aviv and TAU’s campus, we also make sure our students get the chance to see other parts of Israel, and we are very dedicated to facilitating this by providing our international students with organized tiulim (trips) throughout all over the country.

Program Length: Semester or Year Long Program
The academic program is preceded by a mandatory intensive Hebrew language course, called an Ulpan, to prepare you for life in Israel. A summer Ulpan is seven weeks, and an abbreviated four-week Ulpan is offered for students who will begin their studies in the Spring Semester.
Students take a full schedule of courses taught in English from our rich and diverse course schedule. A final updated course schedule is posted prior to the beginning of each semester. Each course awards 3 academic credits, for a total of up to 15 credits per semester.

Our semester’s course offering is designed with students’ interests and requirements in mind. Students with advanced proficiency in written and spoken Hebrew may join courses taught in Hebrew at TAU departments, subject to approval by the TAU International office and the relevant department. However, students taking these courses should be prepared to be in Israel longer as the schedule for these courses is not the same as for study abroad courses.
Each semester program is preceded by a mandatory intensive Hebrew course called an Ulpan, to prepare our students for life in Israel. It offers students at all levels of language proficiency the ability to substantially develop their Hebrew skills. A summer Ulpan is seven weeks (6 credits), and an abbreviated four-week Ulpan (4 credits) is offered for students who will begin their studies in the Spring Semester.
Students with advanced proficiency in written and spoken Hebrew may request to be exempt from the Ulpan requirement through taking a Hebrew proficiency test. Please note that if you would like to take the proficiency test, you must indicate this at the time of your application.
We are not aware of any English requirements for this programme.
- Study abroad programs at TAU International are open to accomplished undergraduate students enrolled at accredited higher education institutions outside of Israel. Generally, a minimum GPA of 80 on a scale of 100, 3.0 on a scale of 4.0, or equivalent applies, but exceptions may be made in the case of a strong application with a lower GPA.
- Students who have completed upper secondary school/high school who would like to spend their first year/ semester of college at TAU International are welcome to apply to our Year/Semester Abroad or to look into our Gap Year Program.
