Overview
The Indigenous Languages and Cultures, Certificate from Queen's University students become familiar with the region’s literary, artistic and cultural history of speakers of Arabic, Chinese, German, Hebrew, Italian, Inuktitut, Japanese, Mohawk, Portuguese, and Spanish, as well as questions surrounding language itself. Students learn to analyze and think critically, communicate and debate, interpret and judge independently.

A degree focusing on languages, literatures and cultures, or on linguistics provides students with valuable transferable skills that are increasingly important in our global world and provides them with the knowledge and skills for further study, employment, and community involvement.
By taking INDG courses, students have an opportunity to immerse themselves in Indigenous history and culture; students expand their knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures, while developing professional skills such as innovative Indigenous approaches to learning and research to work with Indigenous communities.
