Our research-led teaching is world-renowned and uses group discussions, off-campus excursions and guest speakers to make summer classes as fun and as informative as possible.

Classes take place on our riverside campuses in the very heart of London, so you will be within easy reach of all the main visitor attractions enabling you to enjoy the city while you learn. Session One will run from 1 July to 19 July 2019 and Session Two will run from 22 July to 9 August 2019.

Our Summer School is a chance to immerse yourself in British culture and make friends with fellow students from around the world. Come and join us!

    Classes can often be taken for credit towards degrees at other institutions, and are examined to university standards. To receive credit for King's summer classes, contact your home institution to ask them to award external credit. This class is equivalent to an undergraduate degree module and usually awarded 3-4 US credits or 7.5 ECTS.

Programme Structure

Use the King's Undergraduate Summer School to build your knowledge of an existing subject or to study something completely new. Most modules do not require previous knowledge of the subject which provides the opportunity to study courses out of personal interest or explore a subject for the first time.

Audience

Modules on the Undergraduate Summer School are taught at first and second undergraduate level although we often see postgraduate students and working professionals on the programme.

Lecturers

Tutors on the King’s Undergraduate Summer School are largely made up of King’s staff however on occasion some external tutors will be utilised to ensure we provide our students with access to a high level of teaching and learning.

English Language Requirements

You need the following IELTS score:

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. Academic Requirements

The Undergraduate Summer School is open to students who are currently, or have been, enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme. We also welcome applications from professionals who have substantial relevant experience in their chosen subject area. Students should ensure that they are eligible to apply before they submit their application by checking our academic and English language entry criteria below. Please note that the application fee is non-refundable. Students applying for the Biosciences module will need to have a science background.

    Based on the original amount of 1600 GBP for the full programme and a duration of 21 days.
We've labeled the tuition fee that applies to you because we think you are from and prefer over other currencies.

Students can choose from a residential or non-residential pack. Residential includes tuition fees and accommodation in the heart of London and walking distance from our campus. Non-residential includes only tuition fees, it doesn’t include accommodation. Please see below the fees per session:  

- Residential: £2,800  

- Non-residential: £1,600

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.

Funding

We are offering 10 tuition fee scholarships for students wishing to study on our 2019 Undergraduate Summer School. These scholarships will cover the tuition fee of £1,600 and the deadline to apply is 12 April 2019. For information on how to apply for this scholarship please visit our website.
