It turns out there's much more to fundraising and development than you thought. Learn more about the practice in the executive education program, A Course in Exponential Fundraising.

About

Throughout this Harvard Kennedy School-designed executive education program on fundraising, you'll discover that raising money is really a dynamic relationship between organizations and their philanthropic partners, one that's co-creative and generative. The curriculum offers new tactics for developing collaborative, partnership-based approaches to fundraising and philanthropy—a strategy that has proven to be transformational for nonprofit leaders, their partners and their entire organizations. Further, this program is not just theoretical. You'll gain new tools that you can put to immediate use. Indeed, you'll return to your organization with renewed energy to radically change its view on fundraising.

A partnership-based approach to fundraising.

The program begins in September with an intensive 4-day on-campus session exploring the fundamentals of exponential fundraising. Subsequent web-based meetings take place in November, January and March to help you expand and deepen your practice. The program will conclude with another 3-day on-campus session in May.

Programme Structure

The program begins with an intensive week-long on-campus session in which the principles of exponential fundraising will be shared in both a didactic and experiential discovery model. Faculty Chair Jennifer McCrea and other speakers will lead the class in both “seed-talk” and case review and discussion. You'll also spend time in group conversation and experiential “workshop” sessions conducted in small cohorts.

At the conclusion of the on-campus program, you'll work with Professor McCrea and in small groups to develop goals and implementation strategies for your own organization. Results will be rigorously monitored.

The class will reconvene over the following year with three additional web-based meetings that will expand and deepen the practice of exponential fundraising. Small groups will meet regularly between sessions to assess progress, provide support and address any challenges you may face in adapting and implementing the practice.
