University of Zielona Góra

The Vision of the University of Zielona Góra ‘As a full-fledged university, UZ aims to extend its authority to confer doctoral and post-doctoral degrees. All the basic organizational units of the University will be granted the highest research categories. The academic staff will conduct high-quality academic and research work and participate actively in the European Research Space and the European System of Higher Education.

The University of Zielona Góra comprises a wide spectrum of faculties ranging from arts, humanities or social science, through biology and health science, to exact sciences or technology and engineering. In terms of the structure, we are closer to an American university rather than a typical school of higher education in Poland. The faculties specializing in exact sciences, technology or engineering publish the results of their research in prestigious periodicals identified by the Institute of Science Information (ISI) in Philadelphia.

The primary goal of the Career Office is to offer consultancy to students in respect of making conscious career choices and appreciating the value and usefulness of higher education, while taking into account students’ interests, experience, course of studies and academic results. University diplomas confirm the standard of knowledge, yet constitute merely the starting point for identifying the professional position and prospects of the graduates of the University of Zielona Góra.
