Britanica Learning Centre

Britanica Learning Centre, formerly Bell Bucharest, is a privately owned language school active since 2005. Britanica Learning Centre has evolved from Bell Bucharest which was between 2008 and 2013 the Romanian franchise of the Bell Group, the renowned international organisation founded in 1972 in the nucleus city of Anglophone culture: Cambridge.

In over 50 years of experience, Bell International consolidated the communication skills in English of hundreds of thousands of students from schools, universities, ministries and companies in around 30 countries worldwide, including Japan, Chile and Saudi Arabia. Adding up to this vast experience, Bell Bucharest:

  • conducted the largest linguistic training project ever implemented in Romania, delivering classes simultaneously to 2,500 employees of Petrom-OMV (2007-2009)
  • built in its first three years a team of over 100 trainers all over Romania
  • partnered with companies which are well respected in the educational and cultural fields, such as Oxford University Press, English360, Solve & Perform, Albion International Study, the Carturesti Bookshops and the Oxford-Niculescu Publishing House
  • took on English teaching projects in 24 public schools and is currently teaching more than 650 school children on optional courses
  • has a 100% pass rate for young learner Cambridge exams

Today the language centre holds accreditations from the University of Cambridge and the National Authority for Professional Qualifications and has a network of 150 trainers in 50 cities across Romania. Britanica teaches around 200,000 hours every year and prides themselves on the successes of more than 10,000 former and current adult students, as well as 1,000 young learners in kindergartens, public schools and the Britanica two schools.

Finally, being the most recently accredited Romanian member of EAQUALS, (Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality in Language Services), a partner association of the Council of Europe and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) means that we are part of a world elite of 109 accredited centres.

According to the EAQUALS inspectors’ final report, the Centre “has got well developed and efficient management systems and pursues premium quality in all aspects. (...) Particularly impressive is the attention the centre gives to high teaching standards, as well as its investment in continued teacher training and development.”
