Education

The University of Oldenburg is preparing 16,000 students for professional life. It offers a broad range of disciplines, from language studies, cultural studies and the humanities to educational sciences, art and musicology, the economic and social sciences, mathematics, computer science, the natural sciences and the new medicine and health science programmes established in 2012.

Research

In recent years, the University of Oldenburg has developed a strategy fostering existing research strengths to fully exploit the university´s research potential. This strategic process has had an increased national and international visibility of the University of Oldenburg.

Library services

The local library of the ICBM at the ICBM-Terramare in Wilhelmshaven is a specialist library covering about 6000 volumes. The reference collection focuses, amongst other things, on marine science, coastal research, biochemistry, marine chemistry, ecology, geoecology, modelling, marine biotechnology, planktology and environmental chemistry.
