The B. Davis Schwartz Memorial Library provides convenient and effective access to resources such as books, library catalog, electronic databases and scientific journals.
ICT services
Information technology resources are provided by the University to support its educational and research mission. Use of University information technology resources is a privilege. Accordingly, all users of the University’s networks, systems and equipment are responsible for the proper use and protection of these resources, consistent with University policies and applicable law.
Medical services
Long Island University has partnered with Gallagher Student Health & Special Risk to develop a cost-effective Student Health Insurance Plan that provides our students and families with robust medical coverage at school, back home, and while traveling or studying abroad.
Campus life
The University's 330-acre campus is located on the estate of Marjorie Merriweather Post, 27 miles east of New York City on Long Island's Gold Coast. The campus houses the College of Veterinary Medicine, the first professional School of Accountancy, an AACSB-accredited Business School, and an award-winning theater program. LIU is home to the world-renowned Tilles Center for the Performing Arts and the Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium, where supporters gather to cheer on the Sharks’ Division I athletic program.
Sports facilities
The state-of-the-art Steinberg Wellness Center provides activities that promote good health and encourage wellness behaviors that improve the quality of life for members of the campus community and the community at large, including:
The center houses a 2,500-seat arena that hosts home games for our NCAA Division I athletic teams as well as intramural sports and activities; an NCAA-regulation swimming pool.

In addition to university-wide accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, LIU’s schools, colleges, and individual degree programs are recognized by many specialized accreditation boards, including the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, the American Psychological Association Commission on Accreditation, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.
