Established in 1989, Yuan Ze University may be young by traditional standards, yet it has been recognized as a model for newly emerging universities within the shortest period.
Giving top priority to students in the areas of teaching and counseling, Yuan Ze emphasizes education in both creativity and ethics.
The mission of FCC is to identify and bring together the necessary elements of science, engineering, and society to make fuel cells technically and economically feasible energy conversion devices.
With a 6,600 square foot laboratory, dedicated chaired faculty positions, staff and state-of-the-art facilities, the center is quickly becoming a leader in research, development, and commercial deployment of fuel cell engineering and technology. In the past few years, substantial research grants and contracts from federal, and industrial sponsors have been conducted by more than 200 graduate students, 6 research associates and 16 faculty from departments of chemical, mechanical, electrical and management.
Merging the Library with the Computer Center, the Yuan Ze University established the Office of Library and Information Services in 1996. With the high-tech assistance, the University Library is capable of reaching its full potentials, not only to offer a variety of e-resources to facilitate academic research and studies but also to provide Library users with advanced information services.
Furthermore, the University has focused on its information education as well as enhancing the quality of distance teaching for years. Accordingly, the Office of Library and Information Services sets up the Digital Learning Center, which comprises facilities below to facilitate the editing of digital teaching materials, distance teaching and online learning.
