Research
A greater share of students conduct original research in the sciences, arts and humanities at Williams than at almost any comparable school. ARWU World University rankings is the first world university ranking. It ranks the world's top 1000 colleges and universities based on objective indicator. They look at the number of award-winning (Fields Medals and Nobel Prize) scientists who are located there, how much of their research is cited and referenced around the world, and how much they've contributed to different academic fields. After calculating and comparing these criteria, ARWU ranks the universities accordingly.
Student services
The Office of Student Life (OSL) is part of the College’s Division of Campus Life, and is responsible for directing and/or advising a number of College programs & services.
Housing services
As a residential college, Williams offers a variety of housing options for its students and provides opportunities for students to gain leadership experiences through residential community-building programs. The Housing & Residential Programs team in OSL oversees all student housing assignment & selection processes & housing data management, as well as the upperclass residential life program (the Residential Life Team).
Library services
Houses collections in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, and is a federal depository library. The Sawyer Library building is also home to the Center for Educational Technology.
Medical services
- The Williams College plan is fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act and provides access to health care providers and comprehensive benefits when you’re at Williams.
- Care and services received from a BCBS participating provider are covered with no deductible and at 100%. Out of Network coverage is covered at 80% after a $250 deductible.
Sports facilities
Whether you're a fierce competitor on the boards or a lover of quiet walks in the woods, Williams will help you develop an active, healthy lifestyle for your body, mind and spirit. Our 32 NCAA Division III varsity programs complement a long list of club sports and physical activities for every interest and type of ability or disability, including the Williams Outing Club, one of the finest outdoor programs at any liberal arts college.

With nearly 200 student-run organizations on campus and connections to more than 400 service organizations, you’ll find plenty of inspiration and adventure to complement your academic pursuits.
Williams is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The college's accreditation is typically reviewed every ten years, with the most recent full round completed in the spring of 2018.
