History
Our roots date back to 1876, when a Charity Hospital was established in Shreveport. It was renamed Confederate Memorial Medical Center and moved to the hospital’s current location at Kings Highway and Linwood Avenue in 1953. This hospital became the foundation for what was to become a full academic medical center.

They measure the rate of students going to their second year of studies, as well as the rate of students who graduate. It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.

Mission: The LSUHSC Library’s mission is to equip users with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively utilize biomedical information resources. The library provides expertise in information management to advance the institutional goals of instruction, clinical care, research, and knowledge-based regional economic development.
