History
On September 9. 1946, 72,000 citizens gathered to establish the first private university in the Honam Area. Gwangju Evening Academy, a predecessor of Chosun University, was authorized and on September 29 of that year, it opened its wide door of education to the public.

Library services
You can borrow books from Main library by using of your student card.In case you don't have a student card, use your certificate of registration temporarily.
ICT services
Information Technology Center has been providing Wi-Fi service throughout the entire Chosun University campus. Internet access is available with laptops, PDAs and smart phones that have wireless lan. There are 3 ways to connect free Wi-Fi in Chosun University which is below.
Medical services
For international students' safe study in Chosun University, we urge you to buy insurance. We have two kinds of insurance companies, CHARTIS and Hanwha Insurance, you can choose one.

Personal belongings needed: blankets, pillow, bed pad, hanger, and toiletries.Facilities: computer room, laundry room, lounge, and shower room.Those who do not want to live in dormitories can personally arrange boarding houses near our university. However they shall report that they are living off campus to International office.
