At PALS, we believe that our role goes beyond teaching English to our students. As an institution, we actively put into action the Rutgers values of cherishing diversity, bridging cultures as well as fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Campus life

Think of Rutgers University–New Brunswick, with about 43,000 students, as something like a lively and vibrant city. And just as the best small cities have a fun mix of neighborhoods, each with its own identity, so do the five smaller residential campuses of Rutgers University. At each campus, you’ll find everything you need—student centers, dining options, residence halls, computer labs, classrooms, libraries, student lounges, and lots more.

Sports facilities

Long before varsity athletics provided an outlet for youthful energies, the men of Rutgers, like so many of their counterparts at the other colonial colleges, were privately challenging students from other schools to meet them “on the banks” for a little friendly competition.

In fact, the Rutgers student body is credited with initiating the first intercollegiate contest in football in 1869 and later with starting collegiate ultimate frisbee in 1973. Both of these efforts were student driven and student supported with little, if any, assistance from the University.
