IE Summer School

IE is a Madrid-based institution with Undergraduate, Graduate and Executive education programs in a full-time, part-time and blended format. IE’s aim is to contribute a new model of higher education, leveraging on the best academic traditions yet providing a fresh approach in the faculty, our learning methodologies and program content.

The school itself was founded by entrepreneurs, and the entrepreneurial spirit forms an integral part of IE. IE places a special focus on encouraging students to explore social innovation through the development of creative solution. IE is one of the only institutions globally to include humanities core education as a mandatory part of all its degree programs.


The IE Summer School is an intense three-week program that offers undergraduate students and recent graduates the opportunity to follow courses across a wide range of disciplines taught by top quality faculty (the same that teach in our internationally ranked master degrees) while they enjoy the vibrant city of Madrid through different extracurricular activities and team-building events.


IE's objective is to train better leaders in the fields of business management and law. In an increasingly open world of continuous technological advances and interrelated economies, this mission requires a permanent commitment to innovation in our training programs. This capacity to innovate is indisputably linked to the capacity of our faculty, to generate knowledge. Our publications, papers presented in conferences, books, chapters, editorial services and research projects are tangible signs of the quality of our research efforts.


Graduate Summer School is forstudents who have recently graduated or are currently studying any bachelor program at any university worldwide. This is a 3-weeks program, from July 3rd till July 21st in 2017.

The first week students will participate in a number of soft-skill workshops, oriented at improving their interpersonal skills, including teamwork, leadership, personal branding & employability, and communication skills.

During week 2 and 3 students can choose of the six tracks to attend: Entrepreneurship, International Finance, International Politics, Economics and Management, Global Law, Innovation and Technology, Marketing and Communication.

Student Services offers you resources and information vital for your move to Madrid. From obtaining the student visa to finding accommodation, exploring medical insurance options or getting mobile phone service, we are here to assist you.

Housing services

IE has negotiated agreements with several student residences located near campus and will send admitted students an information kit including different options suitable for each student’s budget. Assistance will be offered upon request.

Library services

At IE Library we work to offer our users all the tools required for obtaining the best academic experience possible. We have specialized services for each type of user, and we are at your disposal for any inquiry or doubt you may have. The main resources of IE library are

ICT services

Yes, the Information Technology Department aims to provide the community of IE with a secure, robust and advanced technological working environment, which allows students, professors and staff to carry out their work as efficiently as possible.

Medical services

All IE students should have complete health insurance coverage to cover any illness or accident that may occur during their stay in Spain. This coverage can be ensured by means of the European Health Card, for EU citizens that have the option of applying for it in their country of origin, or by private medical insurance. For the latter, our school has partnerships with several insurance companies.

Campus life

IE has delegations in 28 countries and teaches its students in Madrid, Segovia, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Providence, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Cape Town and Shanghai, among other cities. IE students, who this year come from 128 countries, have the opportunity to establish contacts with major corporations that have European headquarters in Madrid.IE’s historic Segovia campus, where part of IE University’s bachelor degree programs are run, located in woodland close to the center of the city, which in turn is a UNESCO World Heritage Segovia is a unique setting where university students from 70 countries enrich their educational experience by living in a city steeped in history.

Sports facilities

EU has agreements with sport complexes on the outskirts of the city, where students can practice a wide selection of sports. In most cases, when more than 15 students will be attending the practices, we provide free private transportation to the sports complex and back to campus.

Sports lovers attend formal and informal practices and games organized in official teams or individual players. Sports offerings available to these two different participants vary and you will be able to become familiarized with them in the section provided below.

Student clubs

There are more than 90 different clubs at IE. Networking at IE starts in the School’s classrooms and clubs and continues through the Alumni Association.

Each year our students and alumni come together to participate in extracurricular activities designed to enable them to broaden their knowledge, establish new contacts and lifelong friendships, and enjoy themselves.

IE Clubs are the umbrella structure under which we organize events worldwide, grouping activities according to functional area, sector, geographic region, or special interest. These clubs bring together people with shared interests and are a great way to combine management education with networking.


IE Business School has kept the No. 1 position worldwide with its Global MBA and consolidated its position as the best business school for a blended MBA program.

IE Business School’s Master in Management program holds the No. 7 position worldwide, and the No. 1 position in Spain, in the 2016 Ranking of Masters in Management published today by Financial Times.

IE Business School’s International MBA program holds the No. 8 position worldwide, as well as being No. 4 in Europe and No. 1 in Spain, in the FT’s 2017 ranking of MBA programs.
