History
Dr. T. M. A. Pai, the founder of Manipal University, was a staunch believer in the importance of the humanities. He wrote that “the craze for medical and engineering education must not come at the cost of vital subjects of arts, literature and philosophy.” It was this vision that led to the creation of the Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities (MCPH) in February 2010.
Education
The Manipal Group, a pioneer in higher education services with a 60-year-old legacy of excellence, also owns and operates campuses in Sikkim and Jaipur in India, and in Nepal, Malaysia, and Antigua, in the Caribbean.

They measure the rate of students going to their second year of studies, as well as the rate of students who graduate. It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.
Student services
The Director, Student Affairs, looks after the welfare of students and is available in office on the first floor of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education building on all working days.
Housing services
MIT hostel rooms are comfortably-furnished and make for a good home away from home.Girls and boys have separate blocks and each block has a fixed capacity. There is a range of accommodation options to choose from, for students’ convenience.For first-year students, for instance, the double or triple common dorm-type accommodation gives them the comfort of company as they settle into their college and course. It also gives them opportunity to make friends and get acquainted with the campus and its facilities. In this kind of accommodation, they have access to TV room and other leisure/sports activities within the hostel premises.

The MAHE campus is located close to beautiful beaches like Kaup, Malpe. Internationally acclaimed destinations like Gokarna and Goa are a few hours away, making for amazing weekend Gateway. Outdoor enthusiasts and nature explorers can have their pick of places to visit locations like Kudlu falls, Jog falls, Agumbe, Kudremukh , End Point and many more for trekking hiking and camping activities. The farmlands, the cascading hills and stunning inlands waterways add to the beauty of picturesque surroundings of Manipal.
