International Advisory Board of Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies is a voluntary unregulated body providing non-binding strategic advice to the research program, management of the scientific work and other questions related to science at LLU.

International Advisory Board of Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies consists of 14 members from different countries and members are appointed to 3 years.

Housing services

International students, teachers and university guests have various options where to live during the study/work period at university. LLU offers a comfortable accommodation possibilities in the city centre in dormitory No.8. All university facilities are easy reachable on foot and will take only up to 15 minutes.

Library services

The library of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies is an accredited library of state significance. Is not only the biggest library of agricultural literature in Latvia, but also the deposit library of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation and the national centre of the information systems AGRIS and CARIS.

Campus life

The headquarters of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies is located in the Jelgava Palace, but its faculties - all around the city. It can be said with certainty that we are a university of this country, because our branches and scientific institutes are situated in different places of Latvia.

Sports facilities

The Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies provides wide opportunities to participate in sports to its students and employees. The University has two sport halls, a swimming pool, space for aerobics, martial arts, fitness equipment, as well as a sports ground and horse-riding sports centre. Sport classes are available: basketball, volley-ball, ping-pong, track-and-field athletics, Greek-Roman wrestling, judo, aerobics, floorball, orienteering, football, weight lifting, badminton and horse-riding. Employees have the opportunity to participate in six kinds of sports.

Student clubs

Student Self-government serves as an intermediary between the university administration and student, providing mutual information exchange. Student Self-government unites active, creative and enterprising students who like to be in the centre of events and who spend their free time dealing with the problems of their peers’ regarding academic, social, culture and sport life. The members of the Student Self-government represent and defend students’ opinion and rights at the meetings of the University’s Convent, Senate, the Councils of Studies and Maintenance Assistance, various commissions and workgroups, as well as at the Latvian Students Association and other organizations at a national and international level.
