Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) is a pioneering science university in Finland, bringing together the fields of science and business since 1969.


LUT has 16 high-profile Master’s degree programmes both in technology, MSc (Tech), and business, MSc (Econ. & Bus. Adm.), which are taught in English. The aim of all master’s programmes is to provide in-depth understanding of contemporary, relevant topics in business and technology, as well as ability to operate in high-pressure professional situations.

Housing services

The accommodation is arranged by LOAS (Lappeenrannan Opiskelija-asuntosäätiö, Lappeenranta Student Housing Foundation). The housing application will be filled in on-line on LOAS' website.

The student flat is usually a cellular apartment, a flat shared between 2-3 students. Each student has a room of his/her own with a lockable door and a shared kitchen and toilet/washing facilities. Each room is furnished with a bed, a large desk, a desk lamp, a chair, a bookshelf and a wardrobe.

Library services

Lappeenranta Academic Library is a public specialist library serving the Lappeenranta University of Technology and Saimaa University of Applied Sciences, as well as businesses and the general public.

The main library facility is located at the Skinnarila campus in Lappeenranta. In addition, the library has a branch at the Linnala campus of the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences in Imatra.

Medical services

The Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) provides general health care, mental health care and dental health care services for undergraduate students of universities and other institutions of higher education.

Most student apartments are located within walking distance, and the university premises offer everything from laboratories to library services, restaurants to health care services – all this literally under one roof.
