History
UBFC was created on April 1, 2015 by decree published in the Official Journal on March 11, 2015 . This decree was modified on February 14, 2018, leaving room for an update of the decree on the creation of the community of universities and establishments "Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté" and the approval of its statutes.

Research
Driven by the construction of a site dynamic for more than ten years, the ambition of UBFC is to develop a pole of higher education and research visible, readable, attractive, nourished by the whole of its community of personnel and students, turned towards partnership - socio-economic, international -, irrigating the territory, fully assuming its public service missions, aiming for student success, and which marks an efficient and sustainable development of ESR in Burgundy - Franche -County.

Sports facilities
Campus Sports is a service of the University of Franche-Comté which allows you to practice around forty leisure sports activities all week long at lunchtime and in the evening. The activities are open free of charge to all students of the University of Franche-Comté, to UFC staff for a fee of €15/year as well as to various other establishments having an agreement with Campus Sports. The activities are also suitable for people with disabilities.
All curriculum are accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
