History

When Bill Brooks met with his fellow members of the Bellevue, Nebraska, Chamber of Commerce in June 1965, the No. 1 agenda item was discussion of creating a new college in Bellevue. The time and place were perfect, he reasoned, as Bellevue was a growing city, home to Offutt Air Force Base as well as a large contingent of potential college-age students.

Campus life

Most facilities on the Bellevue University main campus have been built or renovated since 1986.

  • The John B. Muller Administrative Services Building is the latest addition to Bellevue University's main campus having opened in the fall of 2011. 
  • The Educational Services Building was completed November 2006. This 72,000-square-foot facility includes space for classrooms, conference rooms, the President's Office, the Business Office, and three of the University's Colleges: Science and Technology, Arts and Sciences, Center for Learning Innovation.
  • The R. Joe Dennis Learning Center was dedicated in 1993 and houses 23 classrooms, 34 full-time faculty offices, a learning center, career services and language lab facilities

Sports facilities

The Gordon Lozier Athletic Center is the home venue for the Bruin volleyball and men's basketball teams and has been the host to multiple MCAC Tournaments and NAIA Opening Round contests. The Gordon Lozier Athletic Center has a seating capacity of 550.The Gordon Lozier Physical Health Center is open to Bellevue University staff, faculty, and currently enrolled students. The facility includes the basketball/volleyball court, lockerrooms, and an athletic training room.The Gordon Lozier Athletic Center also includes offices for all Bellevue University athletic department staff and coaches.
