Kazakh-British Technical University

History

The idea of creating Kazakh-British Technical University was conceived by the former President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, who is now the leader of the nation. Further discussions on the establishment of the University were held during President Nazarbayev’s official visit to the United Kingdom in November 2000.

Education

All our programmes vary across all fields of economics, business, natural sciences and technology. They are modern and professionally attractive, which provides for intensive international mobility of students and staff. KBTU  has exchange agreements with more than 80 international partner universities: US, UK, Europe, and Asia, including: China Petroleum University, Kozminski University in Poland, Reading University in the UK, Mississippi University in the USA, Sejong University in South Korea and many others. More than 70 students attend exchange programs and Erasmus+.

Research

Programmes are interdisciplinary and many more options are open for individual choices of study. Currently more than 70 international students studying at KBTU. Some of them studying under scholarship granted by the intergovernmental agreement between Ministry of Education Kazakhstan and Ministry of Education of China, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
