History
Indian Institute of Technology Indore located in Madhya Pradesh, known as IIT Indore or IITI, is an institute of national importance established by the Government of India in 2009.
Research
A key competency of IIT Indore is research driven academic programme as it forms a core component of the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. IIT Indore has consciously promulgated the idea of involving undergraduate students in forefront research projects. This led to the initiation of a formal undergraduate research scheme, Promotion of Research and Innovation for Undergraduate Students (PRIUS).

Best Global Universities Rankings by U.S. News & World Report presents all the top universities from the U.S. and 60 other countries around the world. They measure the rate of students going to their second year of studies, as well as the rate of students who graduate. It also asks university representatives on the performance of universities, and evaluates university resources, teacher salaries, graduation rates, student academic achievements and satisfaction. After calculating and comparing these criteria, U.S. News ranks the top international universities accordingly.
Student services
The Academic office is responsible for all the academic affairs of the students of the Institute. There is a Dean of Academic Affairs, two Associate Dean (Academic), an Administrative Officer, Managers and Deputy Managers in this office besides some contractual employees.
Housing services
IIT Indore is a residential Institute that mandates students of all teaching programs to stay in the Hostels. This is a home away from home where students develop lifelong relationships, camaraderie, and wonderful experiences that give them a different kind of grooming. Many of our alumni inform us that it is in these hostels where they learned life skills that are taking them a long way.

Student clubs
When it comes to studying at an IIT, people have the misconception that IITians are studious dweebs, who can't break out of the humdrum monotony of their schedules; trapped in a perpetual loop of assignments, quizzes, vivas and semester examinations. With a panoply of activities organised under the banner of cultural and technical events, to a multitude of clubs that help the students follow their interests, the students gain an impressive repertoire of skills.
Whether it be the performance at inter-IITs, at annual TvsMs, or international competitions, the students at IITI have consistently shone with full brilliance. With a close-knit community of more than 1800 students.
