UCSB Extension, now known as Professional and Continuing Education, is committed to providing essential skills and expertise to compete in today's job market. We are helping shape the future of our community, connecting UCSB with our fast-growing entrepreneurial base, and providing opportunities for career advancement and lifelong learning for students of all ages. We offer professional courses and certificate programs to UCSB students getting them ready for the competitive job market after graduation. Our International Programs enable visiting scholars and professionals from all over the world to experience the outstanding research and instruction at our top-rated University.

Housing services
On-campus housing options are limited, but possible; particularly in the Winter, Spring and especially the Summer quarters. You can apply or be added to a waitlist.

Library services
International students enrolled through UCSB Professional and Continuing Education will have access to checkout privileges and library databases. The library privileges are included in the student services fees. In order to create a library account, go directly to the UCSB Library's circulation desk.
ICT services
Modern instructional facilities at UCSB provide high-speed Internet access and a wide variety of software applications for Open University students. Instructional Labs on campus are available during open access/drop-in hours. If you wish to use this facility, you must present your Student ID # (available from the Student Portal) to the lab attendant.
Medical services
While a student at UCSB, you may seek medical care at UCSB Student Health, which is located on campus. When you visit UCSB Student Health you will need to do the following:
- Present your insurance ID card
- Pay all fees
- Request an itemized medical bill
- Submit a claim along with your itemized bill to your insurance company
Sports facilities
The RecCen at UCSB offers exercise equipment, sport facilities, and pools. You may purchase, at a reduced fee, a UCSB RecCen card. Students must present their Student ID card to receive a RecCen card. No other picture ID can be accepted. Please refer the the UCSB Recreation Center Memberships page for more information.
