History
The University was founded in Concepción in 1990, in the residence of a well known family, located in the Trinitarias Street in downtown Concepción. Its founders were Joaquín Lavín, Carlos Délano, Ernesto Silva, Cristián Larroulet, Hernán Büchi and Federico Valdés.

The Library aims to select, acquire, organize and disseminate relevant information to support the academic activities of the University.
Medical services
UDD Santiago ClinicThe building, inaugurated in 2009, has 100 dental chairs, three surgery pavilions, a sterilization center, five X-ray rooms, a plaster laboratory, three auditoriums, a library, five classrooms, computer laboratories and rooms study, as well as adapted facilities such as kinesiotherapy gyms and audiometry rooms.
Campus life
The campus has 65,895 Square meters built of which 2,364 Square meters are for Libraries
and 10,982 Square meters for laboratories and workshops.
Sports facilities
UDD features football, hockey, volleyball, rodeo, tennis and basketball teams, competing within higher education leagues and championships.
The University applied and got accreditation for five years in 2006, in the areas of Institutional Management, Degree-Conducing Teaching, Vinculation with the Environment, and Continuous Education.
